There are 54 new cases of H1N1 at Hong Kong yesterday. Total H1N1 patients become 172. And the first case, a nurse is inffected by the virus. This could be she take care of a 10 month old baby while the baby's parents are now also the H1N1 patients. Currently, ther areat least 2 secondary schools, 1 primary school, and 1 kindergarden have the H1N1 flu case.

Third Acid Bomb at Mong Kok, Challenge the HK Police
"Run, got acid!" is what people heard yesterday at a busy street along Mong Kok. Someone throw a bottle full of acid water again to the general public. As it was raining at the time, people cannot differentiate is the rain or the acid. 24 people, including local and tourists injured. Lets see some of the stories:

Hong Kong guy arrested due to uploading two movies to BT
There is this 38-year old jobless guy upload two movies 《十級颶風》及《故園風雨後》to the BT network. At first, he seeds the movies for only half an hour to an hour, and no one finish the download. But he becomes offline so as to hide his identity. Another day, he seed again, and soon he disconnect when someone finish the download. However, his actions are all being monitored, and he was arrested, as someone has already successfully download the movie 100% from him. This is the 2nd case in Hong Kong, last year Sept, a girl also arrested due to the same reason.

Hong Kong jobless rate record high BUT long queue buying house
Hong Kong jobless rate is highest since 38 months (i.e. nearly 3 years time). However, the property market is getting hot recently. There are more than over 10,000 transactions last month. But some experts say that many of the house buyer are investor, they buy the house now and expect the price rebound within the next few years.

政府公布最新失業率為5.2%，上升0.2%，創38個月以來的新高。
失業率上升主要見於建造業、運輸業、住宿業和金融業。
就業不足率方面，下跌主要見於零售業和裝修及保養工程業，這抵銷了製造業和倉庫及運輸輔助服務業的上升。
樓宇買賣本月料重上萬宗
樓宇登記數目大為上升。最新數據所得，四月上旬樓宇買賣共錄得逾四千六百宗登記，較上月大幅增加三成三。預料本月註冊量有機會繼去年六月以來，再度衝破一萬宗關口，並且是去年十一月金融海嘯打擊後錄約三千七百多宗的谷低數字後新高。
反映上月樓市處於季節性傳統旺季，一手交投熾熱，二手成交亦上升。
市場人士表示，近日樓市交投暢旺，皆因發展商以貼市價推盤，成功催谷銷情，推動買家入市，惟短期內樓市是否持續暢旺，仍要視乎經濟大氣候，市場目前存在不明朗因素。
新春過後，銀行放寬借貸，令整體樓市回穩，而近月發展商紛紛以市價推盤，刺激用家入市，錄得不俗的銷情，不但用家入市，投資者亦有見銀行存款利率偏低，加上見股市波動，寧願將資金轉投相對較為穩健的物業，從而帶動一手及二手銷情。
近日九龍區開售的一個新盤，六成買家選用建築期付款，顯示該盤以投資者為主，他們看好後市，希望從買賣物業獲利，惟眼光是否準確依然是未知之數。

Disney Halts Hong Kong Design Work and Cut Jobs
As reported by Bloomberg, The Walt Disney has halted all creative and design work on the expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland, leading to 30 job cuts and raising tensions with Hong Kong’s government. "After two years of Disney investment in creative and design work and extensive negotiations with our partner, the Hong Kong government, we have not yet reached a final agreement to expand Hong Kong Disneyland," Leslie Goodman, executive vice president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a statement.
The staff were laid off after the Hong Kong government, which holds a 57% stake in Hong Kong Disneyland, told the company there is no timetable for the expansion of the theme park, the report said. Local media had reported the government, which shouldered the bulk of the park's $3.5 billion construction cost, is reluctant to invest more public money. The theme-park operator said it still hasn’t reached an agreement with the government on an expansion plan after two years of investment and negotiations.
Hong Kong’s tourist arrivals will probably fall 1.6 percent in 2009 from a year earlier to 29 million, according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The park increased ticket prices by as much as 19 percent last month, the first adjustment since it opened.

US Recall ALL: BRAND’S Essence of Chicken 白蘭氏雞精
USDA is announcing a nationwide recall of chicken drink products, mainly the BRAND’S Essence of Chicken 白蘭氏雞精. Others than Brand, they also recall "CALFARM牌" and "美樂牌" 調味雞粉. USDA claim that these products don't meet the U.S. poultry requirements. The main concern is the food for the chicken that used to produce these products. And also there is also a concern on the source of the chickens.

HSBC stock plunge pushes HK exchange revised trading rule
HSBC is a very unique stock and it has an intricate relationship with Hong Kong people’s lives. When it fluctuates like yesterday it has a huge impact on people’s sentiment and wealth. HSBC Holdings 24 percent plunge in Hong Kong yesterday prompted a government probe and the stock exchange to consider bringing forward changes to end- of-day trading processes.
HSBC Holdings said Tuesday a huge drop in its shares late Monday was caused by a "few trades" as investors decide whether to put money into a massive rights issue. Hong Kong's financial secretary John Tsang also said the government is concerned about HSBC's sharp losses and that he had already met with SFC officials to discuss the issue. Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. may also accelerate the implementation of a 2 percent cap on stock fluctuations during so-called closing auction sessions.
Original System:
The closing auction process, used by the exchange since May last year, has attracted criticism from lawmakers and investors who claim it distorts stock pricing. The session extends trading by 10 minutes from the original 4 p.m. local time close, during which buy and sell orders are matched by an auction trading mechanism. The sessions are an international practice aimed at providing a “fair and market-driven method” to determine closing stock prices.
Example:
Four days after the closing auction was introduced, eight stocks moved by more than 10 percent from the last traded price at 4 p.m., which Hong Kong Exchanges said was due to a rebalancing of MSCI Barra indexes.
New Rule:
Hong Kong Exchanges said March 5 that it planned to implement a 2 percent limit on the changes of stock prices within the auctions on June 22.

HSBC’s 24 percent tumble yesterday wasn’t the result of “panic selling, it was technical trades”. The shares rallied 15 percent today. The stock, the second-largest constituent on the benchmark Hang Seng Index, fell more than 10 percent during the closing auction session, dragging the shares to the lowest since May 1995. The shares rallied 15 percent today to HK$37.80.

These top five riches men in Hong Kong: 李兆基, 長實 - 李嘉誠, 新世界發展 - 鄭裕彤, 華置 - 劉鑾雄, 新鴻基金融集團 are saying they will support the right issue of HSBC. They say they have confidence in the bank. HSBC trading suspended, wait for results at 4pm
Trading in shares of HSBC Holdings was suspended in Hong Kong on Monday, the Hong Kong stock exchange said, ahead of what sources have said will be a rights issue of up to $18 billion to be announced later on Monday alongside its 2008 results.
Shares of HSBC's Hong Kong-based subsidiary, Hang Seng Bank, dropped 4% ahead of its own results for 2008. Daiwa Research expects Hang Seng's 2008 profit to drop to HK$14.06 billion from $18.24 billion in 2007.

HK to pay half of the university graduate's salary
With the impact from financial crisis. Hong Kong government is going to have a plan with 4000 internship positions for university graduates. Goverment will pay for HKD 2000 dollars, while the employer pay another HKD 2000.
If the students decide go for a company at mainland China. Hong Kong government will pay for HKD 3000 dollars, and the employer may choose not to pay!

Hong Kong Jobless Rate 4.6% - Highest in 7 years
The newest jobless rate at Hong Kong is 4.6%, compared with the 4.1% reported for Dec 2008. Total number of jobless people reach 157,700, enough to fill 15 Hung Hom stadiums. This is the highest since 2001, and expect the jobless rate hit 6 - 7% after 3 months.
The HK BEA profit also reduce 99%, due to the first loss during the second half last year. This is mainly because they sell away all the so called "toxic assets". Hong Kong Hang Seng index droped below 13,000 on 17 Feb. And close slightly above 13,000 on 18 Feb.

With the dropping of HSBC share price, the MPF of many Hong Kong universities staffs are becoming lower values. If one professor is going to retire this year, it is estimate he will be lossing 300 million of his money.
One professor says, it is like being jobless for several years. And it is believe many will request for further service to extend their retire plan. Take Hong Kong Chinese University with 2600 staffs as example, those investment in Hong Kong stock suffers nearly 52% lost.
Other like HKUST and City University, having about 10% in their porfolio, and this costs about 46% drops in their retirement fund. Baptist University has 1025 staffs, with 20 going to retire this year. Hong Kong University has 1980 stass, and about 50 are going to retire within this year.
Many have choosen not to withdraw their money in the retirement fund, and hopefully after a few years, they manage to get back more money.

The 22 year-old university student Miffty 張茆 finally issue an official statement regarding her kiss with Vivien Chow's boyfriend. She claims that many people use her name to blog. 白花油 CEO molest two taxi drivers
