Remember my last trip to Shenzhen 深圳? The food there is so nice and so cheap. Imagine a big bottle of beer only RMB 5. And see what I order, one Gu Ru Rou 咕噜肉, and one BBQ oxyster 炭烧生蚝, so fresh and so delicious. Yummy and taste great. Of course, I wont forget the vegetable, though the way of cooking is kind of special, with the ginger and 皮蛋, but it tastes good too.

Sham Shui Po 深水埗 - electronic town - and let you experience the local HK life
Sham Shui Po 深水埗 has the name of the electronic city 电子城 for Hong Kong. There are a few buildings focused on the electronic gadgets. I have talked about it at Computer centers of Hong Kong and also a shopping center at Dragon City 西九龙中心. However, what you may not know about is that this is the place where you can see how a typical "not so rich" people in Hong Kong make a living. There are a very big night market, span across a few streets, unlike their counter part at Temple Street 庙街 or Woman Street 女人街, here is not for toursist. The market here is for the local people, they are selling everything, anything that you need it in your daily life, you can find it here. From clothes, to shoes, to light bulb, even magnet, they got dedicated stall for it.
Food is cheap here. However, as I heard, got some old poor people here, they will even come and eat the food that you left behind.

Stanley 赤柱 - Local and Tourist favourite - my tips for you
No matter you are local HK people or you are tourist, from western or Asia countries, speak watever language, I am sure you will like Stanley 赤柱. It is one of the favourite spot on Hong Kong island. How to get there? By bus 6, 6A, 6X or 260 from Exchange Square bus terminal in Central. The buses are double decker, make sure you sit in the front and on the upper level. The scenary on the way to Stanley is so great that you won't like to miss, e.g. the Repulsive bay and the view of Ocean Park cable car and theme park.
As for the food, there is a long street along the beach selling all sort of western food, the price over these will be slightly more expensive. And I would strongly suggest you go for Murray House. There got a few very nice restaurant, especially the German Restaurant King Ludwig Beerhall on the top level. The price is cheaper and food nicer. On the way back, you may take a different number from what you took just now, as they may go by different route. Also try to sit with someone (again on the upper desk and front), but why sit with someone else? Because there will be many smelly people get on bus at the Repulsive Bay later on. Another Hong Kong murder case: 鳳姐殺手再現
Here is another murder case in Hong Kong, just like what you see in the drama or movie. After reading this news, you will know why the Hong Kong TV drama series can be so exciting. Seems like those police case shown in the TV can be happened in real.

Hong Kong island disappears
No kidding, take a look at this photo, I can't see the Hong Kong island at all on yesterday morning. This is the first time. The weather is getting cold in Hong Kong, and the economic is slowing down, but the pollution is still running at high speed. A few years back, the Hong Kong sky is so blue, and the habour view is nice. Look like now people will move to inland and stay far away from the Hong Kong island or habour side.

Prepaid SIM card with free IDD service
There are plenty of prepaid mobile services in the market. In Hong Kong, all you need is just go to 7-11, and immediately you can get a SIM card and start to making call or receiving call. There is this card IDD Talk Stored Value SIM Card from Peoples, which I find that most suitable for tourists, expats, and other foreigners.
Why is that so? Because it provides Free IDD to 30 Countries/Destinations, including China. That means basically you can make a phone call to your home countries, and that is being charged for local call (about HKD 0.25 per min). The SIM card itself just costs HKD $60 with $58 value inside or buy a $98 with $98 value inside. Pretty a good deal.
So why pay roaming charge to call back your home while you are having fun in Hong Kong?

In June 2008, the Government of Yunnan Province generously donated a Lufengosaur skeleton to the Hong Kong SAR Government. Lufengosaur possesses both scientific and historical significance in that it is the first dinosaur species studied in China and the first complete dinosaur skeleton excavated, conserved, mounted and named. This is also the first time a precious dinosaur fossil is given to a jurisdiction outside the Mainland.
Lufengosaur was a prosauropod that lived in the Early Jurassic some 180 million years ago. It had a small head, a long neck and short forelimbs. The strong hind legs enabled it to stand upright and walk. The large tail helped to counter balance the body when running. The dinosaur was herbivorous and had small, flat teeth with coarse serration that facilitated shredding plants. Its sharp claws might be used to rake foliage from trees or for defence.
The dinosaur presented to Hong Kong is a Lufengosaurus magnus unearthed in Lufeng in June 2007. Measuring 7.8 m long and 2.2 m tall, the fossil skeleton is preserved in excellent condition with bones of the lower extremities fused in a natural posture. With the exception of the skull and part of the tail vertebrae which are replicas, the skeleton is mostly made up of genuine bones numbered over 300. The dinosaur will be permanently displayed in the Hong Kong Science Museum.

What a colorful bowling
I never see a bowling like this, so colorful, how to play. You will be easily distracted. However, this is indeed a new decoration. Look at the colorful lights at the ceiling, isn't it a good idea to do your house in this way? At least in Hong Kong, you can see many things which are new and very different, all are uniques.

Halloween Monster at Knutsford Steps
Knutsford Steps is becoming another Lan Kwai Fong (LKF), located at Tsim Sha Tsui, it hosts many nice international restaurant, and pubs / clubs. Take a look at these monsters at Knutsford Steps during Halloween, I can assure you the environment is 100%. Dinning and drinking at Knutsford Steps can be slightly more expensive (about HKD 80 per drink) than LKF, but the environment is much nicer, less crowed (during normal days), less smoke (if you are non smoker), plenty of westerners too.
Unfortunately, a lot of them request for a minimum spending of about HKD 200 per person, and even you willing to pay, you may not get a space. Alternatively is to get to the pub / club at TST Moody Street. The crowd is much younger, and of course more smoke at the same time. Drinks are much cheaper here. About HKD 50 per drink.

Although the economic is not doing good, but quite a few of the buildings in Hong Kong have been lighting up for the Christmas. These are big grand lighting, not just a few small light bulb. 泰林開倉半價清貨
已結業的泰林電器第二天開倉半價清貨。結業的泰林昨日開始開倉以五折售賣剩下貨品，但市民要持有入場劵才可按時段分批進場，進場的人每人限買3件貨品。泰林臨時清盤人安永企業財務董事總經理廖耀強透露，昨日上午已賣出約320萬元的貨品，套現160萬元。約賣出三成貨品，手機、相機全部售罄，尚餘其他貨品，持籌市民今日有機會搶購。

懷疑已被殘殺及肢解成七截，經冷藏「保鮮」後，人頭和四肢等分五袋，每袋用八重垃圾膠袋及封箱膠紙密封藏入三個手拖旅行篋內，再移至新口岸一個充「停屍間」的豪宅內收藏。涉及該案早前被捕的一名疑犯，昨日委託友人代往豪宅取物時發現該批殘肢，司警鑑於殘肢已嚴重腐爛，須驗DNA確定身份。肢解案現場為新口岸昆明街鳳凰台花園一個三房一廳單位，駐澳解放軍總部毗鄰。昨晨十時，一名男子稱受友人委託到上址取物，甫入屋聞惡臭，通知管理員報警。司警到場調查，證實臭味由一個房間傳出，房內放有三個、各兩呎半乘呎半的黑色尼龍手拖篋，探員打開其中一個篋後，發現內有黑色垃圾膠袋載着的可疑物品，袋口用透明封箱膠紙綁纏，再拆開後竟袋中有袋，探員經拆開八層膠袋後，赫見內有一個已腐爛人頭。
3個旅行篋共有5袋人體殘件，當中內藏7大件人體不同部位肢體，包括頭部、四肢，身軀則被切成兩截。周偉光並表示，由於碎屍經已腐爛至難以辨認，現場亦未發現任何身份證明文件，暫時無法判斷死者身份，但由於背後承租人是「差佬文」命案其中一名疑犯，加上死者是男性，有理由相信死者是在澳門失蹤兩個多月的香港男子，即綽號「差佬文」的黎經文。
現場消息指，被發現的碎屍曾經過急凍處理，加上碎屍被發現時仍有急凍的冰冷感覺，司警相信3個裝有碎屍的旅行篋是近期被移到現場，估計該單位亦非肢解死者的地方。司警立刻再把其餘手拖篋逐一打開查看，找到四袋同樣包裝的「物件」，證實均是人體殘肢，包括雙手、雙腳及由腹部切成兩截的軀體，殘肢全部嚴重腐爛及滲出屍水，篋面布滿白色霉菌。消息指出，鑑證科人員到場協助司警檢查死者殘肢時，發現屍體的溫度異常冰凍，懷疑曾被人冷藏一段時間，部分肢體已溶解呈漿糊狀。而屋內家具和電器俱備，與一般住宅無異，亦無打鬥痕迹，但用作藏屍的房間的冷氣機長期開啟，並調校至最低溫度。警方相信該處非第一現場，疑死者被肢解冷藏後，將肢體移往自設「停屍間」，刻意拖延屍體腐爛時間。

HDTV development in Hong Kong
Digital TV is being offered by all pay TV operators in Hong Kong via cable, satellite and broadband network. As for terrestrial TV, the Government announced in July 2004 the implementation framework for digital terrestrial TV (DTT). The existing two terrestrial TV broadcasters, Asia Television Limited (ATV) and Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) are required to launch DTT by 2007 and achieve at least 75% of coverage in 2008. Subject to further market and technical studies, the Government aims to switch off analogue broadcasting in 2012.
Tenants of over 140 public rental housing (PRH) estates can now receive Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) broadcast with proper TV device. Starting last year, the HA arranged upgrading work for the communal aerial broadcast distribution (CABD) system in its estates in two phases to tie in with the phased DTT launched by the two domestic free television stations, Asia Television Limited and Television Broadcasts Limited. Subsequent to the completion of the first phase covering 68 estates last December, the second phase was now completed as scheduled, adding some 80 estates and hence all PRH are now ready to receive DTT broadcast.
With all upgrading works completed, anytime the two TV broadcasters commence DTT broadcast through their transmission stations at Temple Hill, Golden Hill, Kowloon Peak, Castle Peak, Cloudy Hill, Lamma Island and Mount Nicholson, PRH residents would be able to receive DTT signals.
LCD 22" or 26" (and above) TV with 720p standard (refer to CNET) will be good enough to receive the HDTV broadcast.

洋紫荊自助餐 is a buffet on a ferry. It picks you up at the Nort Point at Hong Kong island at 700pm or Hong Hum at 730pm. Then it will make a few round trip along the victoria habour. So you may take a look at the light show at 8pm.
The food wise is so so.. in fact not very good, so to me it is not a worthwhile trip. And most people are tourists, so now you know how the food taste like.
